Hi, I’m Jerri — watercolor artist, teacher, and believer that creativity belongs to everyone. This is The Creative Current, where I share the flow of my own creative journey, from watercolor techniques and behind-the-scenes peeks to the random bursts of inspiration that make life more colorful.

It took me much longer to realize that I could be a watercolor artist than it should have. I hope I can help you make the realization much sooner. The joy I've found since creating my first watercolor painting is unlike anything else I've ever done. I'd like to help you capture that joy, too.

• Behind the Brush — stories from my art practice, the teaching process, and the occasional (or not so-occasional) misadventure. Expect to hear about writing, too, since that's been my career for the past 35-ish years.

• Creative Living — ideas and inspiration that spill over from art into everyday life. I am on a mission to fill my world with beautiful things that I (and other artists) create that I love. But I'm also trying to carry the lessons I'm learning in art into my daily life. I'd love it if you joined me for the journey.

Why “The Creative Current”?
Creativity moves. It flows, shifts, and changes direction. For the last few decades, my creativity has focused on words, but now that's changing. Sometimes creativity is a steady stream, sometimes it’s a wild surge, and sometimes it meanders into places you never expected. This space is where I capture all of that movement and share it with you.
